30 gold tours - selected hikes in Funäsfjällen

The Gold Tours are carefully selected routes in Funäsfjällen, it is your guide to the real mountain experience with varying degrees of difficulty. Gold tours are selected day trips that take anywhere from an hour to a day to complete. They are a mix of circular and return tours, shorter tours with the kids, or tougher treks for the experienced. You can be sure to experience mountain hiking with magnificent experiences and views no matter which tour you choose. Some hikes are close to the village, others a car or bike ride away and always provide a wonderful experience. 10 KulTurer - playful walking tours

KulTurerna can be found in and around Funäsdalen. They are playful hiking tours where some are village tours, or cultural trails and others are adventure trails for children. Each KulTur is well signposted and is described in more detail in the hiking guide.

60 peaks - Challenging hike

60 peaks is a guide for those who want to explore Funäsdalen's mountain peaks. Here, 60 summit tours, at over 1000 meters, have been selected. All peaks are over 1000 meters above sea level and all can be reached during the day from the road in Funäsfjällen. Some are single tours where a peak is the goal, others can be close in the same massif, and therefore practical to plan. Both summer and winter ascents count. The ascents are dated and a "summit book" is available for each peak, where you can see who has been on each peak. Each peak can be reached in one day, so choose which one(s) you want to climb. Discover canoeing adventures in Funäsdalen

From Funäsdalen you can paddle both long and short trips. Some people choose to paddle all the way to Röros in Norway via the Röa river, a trip that takes about a week, while others prefer to do a day trip or paddle a few hours on Ljusnan. Canoeing has become very popular in recent years, and of course you can experience that too in Funäsdalen.

Guided horseback rides in Funäsfjällen

At Röstberget right next to Funäs Ski Lodge you will find Åsens Islandshästar where Gunnel with a safe hand takes you on a ride over the mountain. You can choose to ride for half a day, a full day or an adventure during the afternoon and evening.

Fjällpilen offers tour riding on Icelandic horses. During the winter, riding tours are offered in Funäsdalen and in summer/autumn riding takes place in Bruksvallarna and Ramundberget. Horseback riding in Funäsfjällen is suitable from the beginner to the experienced rider. There are also groups for experienced riders where the riding is more challenging and the horses are allowed to gallop.

Funäsfjällens Golf Club

Funäsdalen is home to two of Sweden's most beautiful golf courses. The 18-hole course in Ljusnedal was built back in 1972, is Sweden's first mountain course and has hosted the Swedish professional tour twice.

The course offers great views of the mountains and Ljusnedalssjön. Lots of water is the course's biggest difficulty, although bunkers and narrow fairways also challenge your golf game.

The high quality of the greens and fairways further enhances the level of play, and keeps most players coming back more than once.

PAY & PLAY

Ramundberget's 9-hole course along Ljusnan is a different golf course that rewards precision before length. There is a Pay & Play option, which means that no official handicap is needed.

From beginners to advanced challenges

With all its mountains, Funäsdalen is a paradise for advanced rock climbing. But there are also areas that are so easy that no prior knowledge is needed. For example, there is a marked climbing trail in Funäsdalsberget, the only one in the Swedish mountain range. No prior knowledge is needed and you can rent equipment in Funäsdalens village. Courses are organized for those who want to learn rock climbing.

Choose between a swimming pool, mountain lake or your own secluded stream

Bathing in pool or mountain lake? Stream or pond? Spend the hot summer days at the bathing area with jetty in Funäsdalen village, Tännäs and Tänndalen. Or in the pool at Hotell Funäsdalen, Hotell Tänndalen, Ramundbergets Fjällgård and Walles Fjällhotell.

Our tip is to find your own swimming spot somewhere along Funäsdalen's many babbling mountain streams. You can also swim in a suitable pond along one of the Guldturs trails.

Funäsbowlen

Funäsdalen's skatepark, which is 360 square meters in size, was built in 2020. The skatepark is designed as an open bowl with different heights and radii of the bends. Immediately after the opening, the park was filled with skaters of all ages and genders, trying skateboarding for the first time. The skatepark is suitable for both beginners and more experienced skaters.
