Härjedalen Mountain Museum

Explore Härjedalen Mountain Museum: A journey through Sámi culture and the history of mountain farmers

Härjedalens fjällmuseum is a museum in Funäsdalen in Härjedalen that opened in 1999. It is a cultural center for the whole of Härjedalen and displays one of the country's oldest collections in a beautiful exhibition about the Sami, mountain farmers and mill workers who lived their lives side by side in Funäsdalen.

In the same building as the museum there is also a permanent exhibition of the artist Emil Näsvall's works and directly adjacent to the museum is also Fornminnesparken, where you can walk around and look at several old buildings. Fornminnesparken is open all year round and is Sweden's oldest village museum dating from 1894. Härjedalens fornminnesförening has been the active organization for the creation of the museum and the park
